Lord, Teach Us How To Pray

May 18, 2025

Because we are the people of God, we should be able to speak the mind of God.

Prayer involves words and speaking. You can meditate and have thoughts, but to be effective those words have to come out of your mouth.

Luke 11.1-4

When we pray, we acknowledge that we are experiencing situations that are beyond our control and that we cannot handle them. It says that we need help. Scholars say that most people pray only to God when they are in trouble. But really, prayer should be a lifestyle. We have to pray when things are good and when they are bad. It helps us respond properly with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer is vital, energetic, and potent. We have to live prayerfully. This means we must live a life full of prayer.

James 5.16

You do not have to be a super saint or be super saved to pray. We are spirits, we have a soul and we live in a body. Which one will be in charge? Without prayer, there will be no victory.

You have to pray with expectations. Your attitude should be an attitude of prayer, wherever you may be.

A phrase that we can incorporate into our communications and thinking is, "No Problem". This says that God is our source and answer to all issues. There is nothing too big or difficult for Him to solve. If your prayer life is a little weak, you can start building it up. The more you spend with Him, the more you will want to spend with Him.

Allow Jesus to provide instructions to follow. It does not have to be complicated.

As you begin to pray and live with God, you will develop an intimacy with Him. You will begin to see things the way He sees them. Spending time with the Lord can be the best thing to ever happen to you.

If you want to know God, spend time with Him.
