Three Ways to be a Strong Christian

Mar 22, 2026    Elder Kirby Church

God desires a personal relationship with each of us. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. He commanded that light shine out of darkness. When we are born again, we become that light. Genesis is a preview of what happens in the new creation.

God’s spear moved upon the face of the deep. He does the same thing to our hearts. He moves across hearts, prompting us to give our lives to Jesus.

You must live your life by the word of God. The Lord says My thoughts are not your thoughts. We must walk by faith. Jesus tells us to come and take His yoke, which leads to a life of ease.

1. We must live our lives according to the Word of God.

The words that Jesus spoke were words of life. We must present our bodies as living sacrifices, having renewed minds. One way to live according to the word of God is to forgive. Jesus did not talk about the wrongs he suffered; he forgave. Another is to pray for others. If we do not have an answer, search the Scriptures and then pray on the answer.

2. You must live your life according to the love of God. If your faith is not working, check out your love walk. What is the love of God? That we keep His commandments. How can you love someone who wronged you? Believe that Jesus is the Son of God and He loves you. Love others as Jesus loves you. Love is patient, kind, not boastful, keeps no record of wrongs, always protects, perseveres, and hopes. Love is the very virtue of God. Love is God’s will towards His children. It must be this attitude toward one another.

3. We must live our lives by faith. It is a strong belief with a strong corresponding action. Faith is believing and acting on the Word of God. God has dealt to every man the same level of faith. All you need is faith in God. Speak God’s word, and it shall come to pass.

The crucified life is to put off the old man and be renewed in your mind. Examples of people living by faith can be found in the Book of Hebrews. Like Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Moses, the children of Israel, Rahab, Samson, Elijah, David, Daniel, John the Baptist, and so on.
