The Flesh vs. The Spirit

There is a battle between the flesh and the spirit. We live on Earth in flesh yet have a spirit. We are free from the Law and legalism. We live in the world but not of the world.

ACRONYM for Flesh:

Feels - Leads into the flesh. Not every feeling comes from God.

Like - The flesh likes good feelings.

Everything -

Stops - Sin stops, God prevails

Happening - Look at the fruit. What is happening that we are not aware of? What is happening with the fruit?

Nuance sins - the little things that hold us back.

Nuance refers to a subtle distinction, slight variation, or delicate shading in meaning, color, tone, or feeling. It is the fine detail or "hidden layer" of something that gives it depth, texture, or complexity, and is often used to describe things that go beyond a simple black-or-white.

Jesus is coming back for a church without a spot or wrinkle. Anything culture says is good hinders our purpose in life. We have dominion over the spirit and decide to enforce this domination.

We are not just called to “be me", we are called to live in the spirit. The flesh is untrained and unlearned. God has control of everything, but we have to give him what he needs. Flesh is self-focused. We have to make a choice between the flesh and the spirit.

Galatians 5.16-25 Waling in the Spirit

We have to continually repent and read God's word. This is not a one-time deal. Grow in holiness and righteousness. God is faithful to help us grow.

We must examine ourselves daily. Do not let your social circle define who you are. Saying no to the right things will stop your spiritual growth.
