God Is Calling, Come Out Of Hiding
Where are you? This is a powerful question. God gave Adam instructions, but Adam failed the test. Remember that we are all Adam. In reality, we are the ones who need the help. We are not always David or Joseph, but sometimes we are the people who sought to destroy them.
God asked over 3,000 questions in the Bible. He did not ask a question where He did not know the answer. The questions were asked to impart revelation to the person being asked the question. The question of 'where are you' is a question about your spiritual status and condition.
Condemnation will cause you to hide. Adam was in the presence of God, but hiding. We can be in church, but hide from God. God knew where Adam was. Because Adam felt condemned, he hid and was afraid of the Creator. The enemy twists your thinking to keep you separated from God. Instead of running to the Father, he hid from the Father. We know that we have God's grace and mercy where we can run to Him no matter what is happening in our lives.
We can still be presented faultlessly. Christ stands in the gap. Shame and guilt will cause you to go further and further into darkness. Condemnation brings shame and guilt. Sin festers and grows in the dark. The more you keep it in the dark the more it grows. The enemy will convince you that you have it under control. He will say just one more time. Give me a couple of more days. Know that you are not in control. Secrets will make you sick until they destroy your relationship with God and all the people who love and care about you. Genuine concern will be perceived and condemnation. Shame and guilt will cause you to push away people who care about you.
You have people assigned to your life to help pull you out. You need people to rally around you. Do not let the enemy convince you that you have it all figured out. You have to choose to be with God. He stands at the door and knocks. You have to open the door to Christ. Where are you? In order to grow and get better, we have to accurately and honestly assess where we are. We have to be honest about ourselves.
The most important step to receiving help from God is related to your ability to identify and admit where you are. God cannot go to where you are pretending to be. Where are you? Not where you are hoping to be, but where you are right now.
The enemy tries to convince you that God is coming to condemn, but He comes to restore. How long will you wait and stay in hiding? The Father is looking for you because He wants a relationship with you. He does not need any material possessions from you. He just needs your availability. He needs a yes and He will work from there. Call Him while He can still be found. He stands at the door and knocks. You are the one who opens the door to let Him in. Where are you?
