The Concept of Leadership

In today's society, there is a lack of strong leadership. Different stories were shared that involved legal problems with area churches and how they were resolved through the legal system. These problems were the result of failures of leadership. Churches are not immune from such problems. Churches are easy targets because of their focus on forgiveness and there are those who know it and try to take advantage.

Some people seek leadership for power, personal gain, or for an ego trip. They seek those positions for all the wrong reasons. True leadership is when people who have these positions are trusted, honest, accountable, and realize that they are acting as fiduciaries. Follow those who are deserving of the position of leadership. If you have the skills and ability to lead, aspire to it.

Mentoring and education are very important in developing leaders. Life has to be a continual process of learning and a willingness to teach.
