Gospel, Grace, Surrender
Paul was chosen to preach the gospel to the Gentiles and travelled around the empire. He wrote letters of encouragement and answered questions. Churches eventually became divided about when to worship and whether Gentiles should become kosher.
Jesus became what we are so that we can become what He is. The old law has been eliminated. We are saved by grace and not by works. We must dedicate our entire lives to God. We have to surrender our thoughts, emotions, relationships, and finances, plus many more.
God is calling us to be living sacrifices. We cannot let sin control the way we live. Do not give in to simple desires and instruments of evil service. When we are dead to sin, we have new lives. Sin no longer is our master, and we do not live under the requirements of the law. Sin has no power over us.
A living sacrifice must die daily. Dying to self is not a one-time occurrence. It does not mean that we live under rocks or do not enjoy life. We have to ask ourselves, “Do you want to be kept?” Are you sold out, or is your mind made up?
When you trip up, pick yourself up and continue on. Be mindful of what you see, hear, and say. Is God pleased? Is someone benefiting from your life? Have you been changed?
