Jesus Christ: The Better Life

Jun 28, 2026    Apostle Anthony Wallace

There is a disconnect we have to bridge between the church and those who know where it is but do not step inside. The book of Ezra is rebuilding the people in the ways of God, encouraging them to live that life at home.

This was the first time the Torah (The first five books of the Bible) was read out loud to the people. When the ministers stand on the platform to encourage the congregation to step out of their moods, cares, and concerns and yield themselves to the word that is being spoken at the time.

Be what you’re professing. If you profess to be a Christian, then you have to live the life of a Christian. What are you willing to surrender to attain the better things God offers? Everything does not change at the point of becoming born again. There will be trials and tribulations. The purpose is to build a strong foundation to withstand the trials of life.

The pulpit is mentioned once in the Scriptures, as a raised platform. Migdal is the Hebrew word for platform or pulpit. In Genesis 11, Nimrod had the idea of building a city, but he did not build the pulpit first. Where God is not placed first, what is built afterward will not last. It will fail.

Evaluate yourself to see where you are in the Lord. The pulpit is to get you to understand your purpose and step out into life and live. You can affect many lives by looking the way you are supposed to look like.

We must hear from God. The ability to do so takes maturity. Only the immature cannot hear. We cannot operate in the power of emotions.

Jesus is the person of the pulpit. Everything has to be about Him. It should drive our worship.

The Pastor does not run the lives of the congregation, but does have the responsibility to share the word. For instance, who do you look to when you need help? Try the God that sees you, knows you, and knows how to help you. We have to look at the man in the mirror and then make the necessary changes, until we begin to see God being reflected through our lives.
